#PolishOurPrices: Why I Changed Get Adulting's Pricing in Poland

I want to be transparent about something that happened recently (and hopefully help other app devs adjust their pricing!!)

When I launched Get Adulting internationally, I set regional pricing based on what Apple suggested and it worked simply: I inputted the price in USD and it handled everything else. For Poland? That conversion came out to around 14.99zł / year and 69.99zł / lifetime. I didn't question it as I assumed Apple was correct in its conversion.

However, a user reached out pointed out that the Polish pricing was actually higher than it should be.

The issue is that a lot of platforms base their recommended regional pricing on old exchange rates from 2022 (like Apple) that don't reflect what the currency is actually worth today, especially due to appreciation in recent years. So developers (like myself) who just go with the default conversion end up charging Polish users way more than what's fair without even realizing it.

So I changed it! Get Adulting is now 4.99 zł/year and 24.99 zł/lifetime in Poland. Based on 2026 USD conversion, that is actually cheaper than US costs.

After being educated on how many things cost more in Poland (games, apps, etc), I wanted to not just match USD 1:1, I wanted to offer a discount. Therefore, Poland officially has the cheapest pricing in the world for the Get Adulting App.

I'm one person building this app and I will never be okay with cost being a barrier for someone who needs help getting their life together, that is literally the opposite of what Get Adulting is about! If a user takes the time to tell me something is wrong, I will always listen and take the time to educate myself.

PS if you're a developer reading this, you should go check out polishourprices.pl. It takes five minutes to adjust your regional pricing and it genuinely matters to real people. Don't just trust the default conversion and do the research. Your users will thank you for it!!
