Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 17, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Get Adulting® App ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how Hype Digital LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App. By installing or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App was designed with privacy as a core principle - your personal data stays on your device and under your control. The one exception is the optional Sync & Backup feature described in this policy, which you must turn on yourself. Unless you choose to enable Sync & Backup, everything you enter stays on your device. And even when Sync & Backup is on, your health information and your family and children information always stay offline on your device.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Local Storage Only

No Personal Data Transmitted by Default: All information you enter into the App - including reminders, tasks, health notes, vehicle information, pet details, budgeting data, and app settings - is stored only on your device unless you choose to enable the optional Sync & Backup feature. Except when Sync & Backup is on, we do not send, upload, or share this personal data to any external server, and for data that stays on your device, we do not have access to it.

2.2 Firebase Authentication

The App uses Firebase Authentication for account creation and login purposes. The data collected through Firebase Authentication is:

  • Your email address (used to manage your login credentials)

  • Authentication tokens (used to verify your identity)

Important: We do not collect, store, or have access to your password. Unless you enable Sync & Backup, your email is not linked to any content you enter into the App. If you enable Sync & Backup, your synced data is stored under your account so it can be backed up and restored, as described in Section 2.3.

2.3 Optional Cloud Sync and Backup (Sync & Backup)

Sync & Backup is an optional, paid feature that is turned off by default. You must turn it on yourself in Settings, and you choose which sections of the App it applies to. If you never enable it, this section does not apply to you and your data stays on your device.

When you enable Sync & Backup:

  • What is stored: Only the sections you choose are backed up to the cloud. Sync & Backup is built on Google's Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and your data is stored on Google Cloud servers located in the United States.

  • What never leaves your device: Your health information and your family and children information (including any children's details, prescriptions, and Social Security numbers) are never uploaded to any server, even when Sync & Backup is on. This information always stays offline on your device. The only way to move it to another device is the manual export feature in Settings.

  • How it is protected: Your synced data is encrypted while it is transmitted (in transit) and while it is stored on Google's servers (at rest). This encryption is not end-to-end. Google manages the encryption keys, which means synced data is technically accessible on the server side. We do not read, analyze, sell, or share your synced content, but we want you to clearly understand that cloud-synced data does not have the same device-only protection as data you keep local.

  • Sharing with a partner: If you connect with a partner, nothing is shared with them unless you explicitly turn sharing on for a specific section. Nothing is shared by default, and your health and family information can never be shared this way at all. Both people must have Sync & Backup enabled to share.

  • If you disconnect a partner: If you share a section with a partner and later disconnect, your partner keeps a copy of what was already shared on their own device. Disconnecting stops any new information from reaching them, but we cannot remove the copy already on their device.

  • Restoring your data: If you sign in to your account on a new or reinstalled device and turn Sync & Backup on, your backed-up data can be restored from your account.

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect: location data, device identifiers, browsing history, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, contacts, or photos (unless you add them to the App locally). Any health data and any family or children data you enter stays on your device and is never uploaded to any server, even if you enable Sync & Backup.

3. How We Use Your Information

Unless you enable Sync & Backup, all user-generated content remains local to your device and is used solely to provide you with a personalized and private experience within the App.

  • We do not use your data for marketing, analytics, or advertising.

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

  • Firebase email data is used only for login purposes and is not analyzed or shared.

  • No behavior or usage tracking is performed.

  • If you enable Sync & Backup, we may log technical error events (such as a failed sync and its error type) so we can keep the feature working. These logs never include the content of your data.

4. Data Security

4.1 Local-Only Data Handling

Except for data you choose to sync, your App data is stored securely on your device using your operating system's built-in security features. On iOS, this includes iOS's native data protection. On Android, this includes Android's encrypted storage and security architecture. We recommend enabling device-level security, such as a passcode, fingerprint, Face ID, Touch ID, or other biometric authentication, to help protect your information.

4.2 Cloud Storage for Synced Data

Except for your login email (managed by Firebase) and any data you choose to sync (managed by Firebase Cloud Firestore), the App does not transmit or store data on external servers. If you do not enable Sync & Backup, the App stores nothing about your content in the cloud, and the risk of data exposure from external breaches is significantly reduced.

4.3 Firebase and Cloud Security

Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore are provided by Google and maintain industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your synced data is controlled by security rules that limit each record to you and, only for sections you have chosen to share, one paired partner. As noted in Section 2.3, this cloud encryption is not end-to-end, and Google manages the keys. For more information, see Google's Firebase Privacy and Security documentation: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Control Over Your Data

You have full control over your personal data within the App. You can view, update, or delete any content at any time through the App's interface. You can also turn Sync & Backup on or off at any time.

5.2 Data Deletion

To delete your locally stored data, you can: (a) delete individual entries within the App; (b) use any "clear data" features within the App; or (c) uninstall the App, which will remove all locally stored data. On Android, you may also clear the App's data through your device's Settings > Apps menu.

5.3 Account Deletion

To delete your Firebase authentication account and associated email, tap Delete Account in Settings within the App or contact us at contact@getadulting.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days. Deleting your account also deletes any data you have stored in the cloud through Sync & Backup and dissolves any partner connection so no link remains. If you have an active Sync & Backup subscription, billing is handled by Apple or Google and continues until you cancel it through your App Store or Google Play account, so please cancel there before or after deleting your account.

5.4 Data Portability

Since data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for exporting your data if you wish to transfer it to a new device. The App provides data export and backup features to assist with this.

5.5 Cloud Sync Data and Deletion

If you enable Sync & Backup, we keep your synced data in the cloud until you delete it. If you turn Sync & Backup off or your subscription ends, syncing stops and your data stays safe on your device, and your cloud copy is retained so you can restore it later if you turn Sync & Backup back on. If you want your cloud data removed, you can tap Delete Cloud Data in Settings at any time, or contact us at contact@getadulting.com. Deleting your cloud data does not delete the copy on your device.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google): Used for user authentication. Firebase's privacy policy is available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

  • Firebase Cloud Firestore (Google): Used only if you enable Sync & Backup, to store and sync the sections you choose. Covered by the same Firebase privacy policy above.

  • Apple and Google (payment processing): If you purchase a Sync & Backup subscription, your payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or other third-party services that track user behavior.

8. Platform-Specific Information

8.1 Apple App Store (iOS)

The App is available on the Apple App Store and complies with Apple's App Store Guidelines and privacy requirements. Our App Privacy details on the App Store listing reflect the optional cloud storage used by Sync & Backup.

8.2 Google Play Store (Android)

The App is available on the Google Play Store and complies with Google Play's Developer Program Policies, including the User Data policy. Our Data Safety section reflects the optional cloud storage used by Sync & Backup. In accordance with Google Play requirements:

  • We provide this Privacy Policy to clearly disclose how we collect, use, and share user data.

  • We handle all user data securely and transmit it using modern cryptography (such as over HTTPS) where applicable.

  • We do not sell your personal data.

  • We provide a mechanism for users to request deletion of their data.

For more information about Google Play's data safety practices, please visit the App's Data Safety section on its Google Play listing.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we store data locally on your device by default, and only collect your email for authentication (plus any sections you personally choose to sync), most CCPA provisions regarding data access, deletion, and portability are inherently satisfied by our privacy-first design. You may still contact us with any privacy-related requests at contact@getadulting.com.

10. European Users (GDPR and UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, where applicable, the UK GDPR. These include the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, the right to restrict or object to certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

For the limited personal data we handle, Hype Digital LLC acts as the data controller. The legal bases we rely on are:

  • Performance of a contract: to create and manage your account and, if you enable it, to provide the Sync & Backup feature you have purchased.

  • Consent: for the optional Sync & Backup feature and for any sharing you choose to enable with a partner. You may withdraw this consent at any time by turning the feature off.

  • Legitimate interests: to keep the App secure and working, including the limited technical error logging described in Section 3.

Because most of your data stays on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the App. For anything else, or to make a formal request, contact us at contact@getadulting.com and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.

11. International Users

If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your email address used for authentication, and any data you choose to sync through Sync & Backup, may be transferred to and processed in the United States where Firebase servers are located. By using the App, and by enabling Sync & Backup, you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and post the revised policy on our website at https://www.getadulting.com. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

13. Legal Disclaimer

This Privacy Policy is provided for informational purposes. The App and Hype Digital LLC are not responsible for any loss or damages resulting from your use of the App. This does not constitute legal advice. If you have questions about data privacy laws applicable to you, please consult qualified legal counsel.
