With the beginning of the school year approaching fast, many parents of college students and recent college graduates may be wondering how their kids are going to fare in the coming months. For returning students, the thought of juggling school and life at the same time once more will seem daunting; for new graduates, learning how to “adult” will be the challenge. Luckily, for a handful recent graduates at the Honors College of West Virginia University, there’s an answer to at least some of this transitional strife.
We’re thrilled to announce that this summer, the Get Adulting app is officially collaborating with its first educational institution, West Virginia University of Morgantown, West Virginia! The collaboration will provide recent graduates of Honors in Action, a program for upperclassmen in the Honors College of WVU, with codes to download the Get Adulting app free of charge. Not only can students download the app for free; they’ll also have lifetime access to the app and all of its features! The codes will be sent to those who graduated from Honors in Action this year, so Get Adulting will be available as a trustworthy sidekick for anyone facing potentially choppy waters as they navigate life post-undergrad. Whether graduates are looking for a low-key to-do list and tracker or a more dedicated solution to figuring out adult life, the app has a response to every honors student’s call!
When we asked Dr. Ken Blemings, the Dean of the Honors College, his thoughts about the collaboration between WVU and Get Adulting, he told us how dedicated the school is to ensuring its students’ welfare. “WVU is committed to supporting students’ physical, mental and emotional well-being,” he told us, “and the Honors College shares that commitment. I’m hopeful our recent graduates will find this app to be a valuable resource as they navigate life after graduation.” He also mentioned his interest in this collaboration as something new that WVU hasn’t done before: “I love an experiment,” he said. “I’m looking forward to hearing feedback from our graduates.”
We’re also looking forward to seeing how students react, and plan on keeping in touch with those who enjoy or have feedback on the app. User feedback is a critical part of the mission of Get Adulting, and we can’t wait to hear the thoughts of some of the app’s most dedicated user base—that is, college students and recent graduates. With their feedback, we can expand and improve Get Adulting into what users most want to see, and gradually bring the app to more higher education institutions across the country so we can offer this critical resource to those who need it most.
