Community Pantry Application
Start-Up Kits for Community-Led Food + Toy Donations
The Community Pantry idea came from a personal want to set something up within my apartment complex. It is a storage locker with organized snacks, canned foods, pasta, baby necessities, and more.
Now, I want to expand my impact through the Get Adulting app and offer 'Start-up Kits' to create a community pantry in your neighborhood. Good places to place these would include where you live (if landlord allows), public libraries, local churches, and more.

71" Storage Locker with Glass Display
Storage Bins to organize (12 pack), Top Ramen (2 packs of 24), Tuna (10 pack), Annie's Pasta (12 pack), SpaghettiOs (12 pack)

Huggies Wipes (11 pack), Huggies Diapers (Size 1 and Size 2, 2 packs each), Similac Instant Formula (12 bottles), Quaker Oatmeal (44 packets), Goldfish Variety (30 packs), Keebler Variety (45 packs)

+ a variety of toys (including fidgets, coloring, play-doh, and more)
The goal with a community pantry is for the community to contribute! This just gives you the storage to hold everything and a fully stocked locker to kick things off! Ideally neighbors will donate food/toys/more that they don't need and it will self-replenish within the community.

The Cost of a Community Pantry Start-up Kit: ~$375

If selected, I will personally ship everything directly to the address of your choice. As an alternative, we can coordinate a local store pickup to save on shipping costs and environmental impact. The storage locker does require assembly, I recommend two people to help carry. Food items do not require prep, just organization into bins. The only requirement besides set up is a picture confirmation of the pantry once set up, plus occasional check-ins. If Get Adulting has extra funds, I plan to help replenish as well.
Selections are made on a first-come, first serve basis as Get Adulting funds allow. Additionally, no items will be purchased or shipped until there is confirmation of an approved location. I personally had trouble finding a good place that I could keep the pantry that was approved but also accessible so I want to make sure this obstacle is addressed before proceeding.
If you are interested in hosting a community pantry and receiving a start-up kit, press the button below to email me! Please share your location, where you plan to put the pantry, and any other relevant details. You can also email if you have any additional questions at breanna.stone@getadulting.com
You will also receive this sign to put on the storage locker:
You are welcome to put a sign of your own if you'd like. You are also welcome to share that Get Adulting sponsored this pantry, but I purposely kept my logo off the sign as this is meant to build community, not advertise. Please keep that in mind if you make your own sign!
